Getting a reader to pick up your book is hard enough these days. You need to get their attention on the first line. A great hook will get them to bite, but will the chapter be strong enough to reel them in? You need to finish each chapter strong, leaving the reader with no other option but to turn to the next chapter.
Every chapter doesn’t have to end with a cliffhanger, but you need to leave them with a question or a situation where they MUST find out what happens next. So how do you get the reader to turn the page? Great question. I don’t have the answer to your story, but the following link from from K. M. Weiland at Helping Writers Become Writers is a great place to start.
